Enterococcus spp. qPCR Kit is designed for the in vitro detection of Enterococcus spp. genomes.

Enterococcus is a large genus of lactic acid bacteria that belongs to the Firmicutes phylum. They include a great variety of species and are Gram-positive, facultative anaerobic microorganisms. Enterococci can colonize the digestive systems of humans, animals, and insects but can also be found in natural environments, such as water, sewage, soil, and arable land. Enterococci are the causative agent of urinary tract infections, bacteremia, bacterial endocarditis, diverticulitis, meningitis, and spontaneous bacterial peritonitis.

Enterococcus spp. qPCR Kit is designed for the in vitro detection of Enterococcus species genomes. The kit is built to have the broadest possible detection profile whilst remaining specific to Enterococcus spp. Thus, this kit has been designed for the specific (inclusivity) and exclusive (exclusivity) in vitro detection of this genus. The primers and probe sequences have very high (>95%) homology with a broad range of Enterococcus genomes based on a comprehensive bioinformatic analysis with all reference data within the NCBI database. Other closely related genus are not detected.
