DESCRIPTION

Azido-PEG3-NHS ester linker CAS:1245718-89-1 contains an azide group and an NHS ester. The PEG spacer increases the aqueous solubility of the resulting compound. The azide group readily reacts with alkyne, BCN, and DBCO through Click Chemistry to yield a stable triazole linkage. The NHS ester is widely used to label the primary amines (-NH2) of biomolecules such as proteins, oligonucleotides, and etc.

Azido-PEG3-NHS ester has been extensively utilized in the development of novel drug delivery systems and bioconjugation applications. Its unique chemical properties allow for the covalent attachment of therapeutic agents, such as proteins and peptides, to the PEG chain via CuAAC or SPAAC reactions. The resulting conjugates exhibit improved stability, increased solubility, and enhanced pharmacokinetic properties, leading to improved therapeutic efficacy and reduced side effects.

In addition to its use in drug delivery systems, Azido-PEG3-NHS ester has also been employed in the development of bioorthogonal chemistry tools, which enable selective labeling and visualization of specific biomolecules in living systems.
