DESCRIPTION

Azido-PEG4-NHS ester linker CAS:944251-24-5 contains an azide group and an NHS ester. The PEG spacer increases the aqueous solubility of the resulting compound. The azide group readily reacts with alkyne, BCN, and DBCO through Click Chemistry to yield a stable triazole linkage. The NHS ester is widely used to label the primary amines (-NH2) of biomolecules such as proteins, oligonucleotides, and etc.

Azido-PEG4-NHS ester has been widely used in the development of bioconjugation strategies, which enable the attachment of biomolecules, such as proteins and peptides, to synthetic materials or surfaces. The azido group allows for the covalent attachment of biomolecules via click chemistry, which is a rapid and efficient reaction that occurs between an azide and an alkyne group.
