Trichinella spiralis & Trichinella britovi qPCR Kit is designed for the in vitro detection of T. spiralis and T. britovi genomes.

Trichinella spiralis and Trichinella britovi are two viviparous nematode parasites of the genus Trichinella. T. spiralis and T. britovi are the causative agents of trichinellosis (trichinosis) that can occur in rodents, pigs, bears, hyenas and humans. The first clinical symptoms are gastrointestinal and usually occur after 1-2 days of consuming raw or undercooked meat from an infected animal.

Trichinella spiralis & Trichinella britovi qPCR Kit is designed for the in vitro detection of T. spiralis and T. britovi genomes. The kit is built to have the broadest possible detection profile whilst remaining specific to T. spiralis and T. britovi. Thus, this kit has been designed for the specific (inclusivity) and exclusive (exclusivity) in vitro detection of these species. The primers and probe sequences have very high (>95%) homology with a broad range of T. spiralis and T. britovi genomes based on a comprehensive bioinformatic analysis with all reference data within the NCBI database. Other closely related species are not detected.
