Microbiome Metabolite Library of Standards (GUTMLS) is a collection of 185 high quality small biochemicals that the gut microbiome produces and interacts with including bacterial, dietary and host xenobiotic metabolites.

​

The gut microbiota is colonized by approximately 1000 different species of anaerobic and aerobic bacteria performing a host of useful functions including the production of vitamins and hormones, preventing the growth of harmful species and training the immune system. Factors affecting the bacterial load and composition include diet, use of medications, exposure to pathogens, alcohol and tobacco consumption, age, physical activity, genetics, and psychological stressors. Gut microbiota dybiosis has been linked to numerous diseases such as obesity, cancer, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal diseases and cardiovascular diseases. Many gut microbiome studies focus on dietary, disease or dysregulated metabolic pathways.

Preparation Instructions Compounds can either be used as standards and injected individually or a strategy may be employed to pool compounds to allow multiple mixture to be analyzed per injection. For more information, please refer to the Product Sheet.

Storage/Stability Recommended storage once solubilized at –20 °C, long-term at –80 °C; protected from moisture and light. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
