Revolutionary therapies for healthy aging

This month we have some exciting news from the world of cell biology. CSO/COO Dr. Ingo Lämmermann of Rockfish Bio AG has utilised our ClickTech EdU cell proliferation kit in his current research to investigate one of the key phenomena in cell biology, namely cell senescence.

Cell senescence is a crucial mechanism that describes the ageing process of cells. Cells enter an irreversible cell cycle arrest, which means that they can no longer divide. This state is often seen as a protective reaction to cell stress or damage, but can also influence ageing processes in tissue in the long term.

Dr. Lämmermann and his team use our ClickTech EdU cell proliferation Kit to verify the successful induction of cell senescence. The kit allowed them to track active cell division as the EdU is only incorporated into cells that are dividing. If incorporation is missing, this is a clear indication that the cells have entered a state of senescence. This makes it possible to specifically check whether the cell ageing process has been induced as desired.

This application impressively demonstrates how the ClickTech EdU cell proliferation Kit can be used in modern cell biology to gain deeper insights into the ageing process of cells.
