PIPA (Py-Im-Polyamide)
PIPA (Py-Im-Polyamide)는 비단백질 유래 아미노산으로 구성된 유전자 발현 조절 시약 입니다.
PIPA는 DNA 이중나선의 minor groove 내 특정 뉴클레오티드 서열과 높은 친화도와 특이성으로 결합 할 수 있습니다.
따라서 PIPA는 전사 인자들의 결합을 방해하여 유전자 발현을 억제하므로 유전자 조절제로 사용될 수 있습니다.
PIPA (Py-Im-Polyamide) is a gene expression control reagent, consisting of all non-proteinogenic amino acids, such as N-methylpyrrole (Py), N-methylimidazole (Im), β-Alanine (βAla) and γ-aminobutyric acid (γAbu).
PIPA can bind to specific nucleotide sequences in the minor groove of double-helical DNA with high affinity and specificity, suggesting that PIPA blocks binding of transcription factors inhibiting gene expression, thus PIPA can be used for gene-control.
