Cross/Tangential Flow Filtration (CFF/TFF)

Tangential flow filtration is a separation method used to filter out particles from a solution where the particles flow parallel to the filter membrane as opposed to directly through it at a right angle. TFF separates particles (permeate) from the solution (retentate) without rapidly clogging up the filter, which increases the lifespan of the filter membrane.

Stirred Cell Key Features

  • Cross/Tangential flow filtration design increases membrane life
  • Stirring mechanisms that will not interfere with the membrane surface
  • Stainless steel housing with non-metal contact surfaces on all tangential flow stirred cell components
  • Maximum operating pressure of 1000 psi / 69 bar (HP4750) or 2500 psi / 172 bar (HP4750X)

Optimal capacity and testing area for lab scale studies
