3-azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane building blocks

 

Nitrogen-containing heterocycles are omnipresent in biologically active molecules and more than half of FDA approved drugs contain a nitrogen heterocycle. An intriguing subset of saturated N-heterocyclic scaffolds that displays diverse biological activities and great potential for pharmaceutical use are 3-azabicyclo-[3.1.0]hexanes. Recent research has shown that the incorporation of 3-azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane fragment into molecules can significantly improve the potency and lipophilic efficiency.
