Be consoled- no more pain in the search for a good antibody against FAAH
Fatty acid amide hydrolase 1 (FAAH1), also called Anandamide amidohydrolase 1, is an enzyme that degrades the endogenous cannabinoids anandamide and oleamide and can therefore be considered as the "off switch" for the endocannabinoid system. The lipid amides anandamide and oleamide are involved in reducing neuroinflammation, pain and regulation of other neurological-related activities including feeding behaviors, sleep patterns, body temperature, memory processes and locomotory activity. Due to the divers physiological roles of this lipids, FAAH is considered an attractive target for treatment of disorders like AD, obesity or in pain management.
The new rabbit polyclonal anti-FAAH1 antibody from Synaptic Systems display excellent results in WB, ICC, IHC and IHC-P (FFPE) applications.

Spot on the new VCAM1 antibody – an antibody perfect for IHC and FFPE (IHC-P)
Vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM1 or CD106) is an endothelial adhesion molecule of the Ig gene superfamily, that regulates leukocyte migration from the blood into tissues. Expression of Vcam1 is induced on endothelial cells during inflammatory diseases in response to a number of inflammatory stimuli, including TNFα, lipopolysaccharide or high levels of reactive oxygen species. In the brain, VCAM1 plays a role as “gatekeeper” in the blood-brain-barrier for the access of leukocytes to the brain. This Guinea pig polyclonal antibody recognizes murine VCAM1 in WB, IHC and IHC-P applications, but not the human form of VCAM1, which make it ideally suited for PDX research.

Immunohistochemical staining of formalin fixed paraffin embedded liver sections of left image: a non-infected mouse and right image: a Toxoplasma (T.) gondii infected mouse with Guinea pig anti-Vcam1 (cat. no. HS-470 004; 1:500). Strong Vcam1 expression is detected in the T. gondii infected mouse liver. Nuclei have been visualized by haematoxylin staining (blue). |
Synapses exist not only in the nervous system, but also in the immune system. Here you will find interesting informations about the immunological synapse. | ![]() |
